Stanford, CA-Stanford jumped out to a 28-0 lead using a ground game that wore out the Michigan front, eventually cruising to a 38-21 lead. Stepfan Taylor led the way for the Cardinal by running for 172 yards and 2 TD. Andrew Luck completed his first 9 passes, finishing 20 of 28 for 242 yards. The Stanford defense spent the evening focused on Wolverines QB Denard Robinson, limiting him to 32 yards on the ground, sacking him 5 times and intercepting him twice.

Michigan was led by 122 yards on the ground from Fitzgerald Toussaint. Stanford will host Oklahoma in the quarterfinal round.
