Tuscaloosa, AL-The Crimson Tide steamrolled their second consecutive postseason opponent by smashing Georgia, 37-3. In their first 2 playoff games, Alabama has outscored their opponents by a combined score of 78-9. The Alabama defense was on point all afternoon, limiting Aaron Murray to 16 of 36 passing and picking off 3 of his passes. The Georgia running game could never get going; although they finished the game with 113 yards on the ground, they could only manage 2.8 yards per carry.
The Alabama offense managed nearly 500 yards, led by All-American RB Trent Richardson. Richardson was all over the field for the Crimson Tide, running for 167 yards and 2 TD while adding 5 receptions for 82 more. Alabama QB A.J. McCarron threw for 296 yards, spreading the ball around to 8 different receivers.
Alabama (13-1) will host one of the NCAA Semifinal games next week against either Baylor or Oklahoma.
