Los Angeles won their first championship in franchise history, beating the Cleveland Browns 21-14. The Rams were able to build a 13-point lead in the first half with their solid ground game, gaining over 100 yards rushing in the first half.

The Browns got back in the game in the third quarter, using a 78-yard strike from Otto Graham to Pete Brewster to cut the lead to 13-7 with 7 minutes left in the third quarter. At the start of the fourth quarter, Kenny Konz intercepted Norm Van Brocklin and returned it to the Rams 20-yard line. Three plays later, Fred Morrison punched it in from 10 yards out and the Browns had the lead.

On the ensuing drive, Van Brocklin drove his offense masterfully, completing 4 of 4 passes on the drive, including the go-ahead TD to Tom Fears with 5 minutes to play. The Rams defense held on the following possession, and Cleveland never touched the ball again.
