1956 NFL Semifinal-Chicago Bears-51, Chicago Cardinals-14

The Bears mauled their crosstown rivals to earn a berth in the NFL Championship Game, 51-14. Chicago was led by 207 yards from scrimmage and 2 TD from their Pro Bowl FB Rick Casares. Bears QB Ed Brown completed 14 of 18 passes for 247 yards and 4 TD, including 2 to Harlon Hill. The Bears jumped out on top 21-0 early in the second quarter and the Cardinals were never able to recover. Ollie Matson went over 100 yards rushing for the Cards, but QB Lamar McHan threw 3 interceptions, and the Cardinals never threatened after halftime.

The Bears will host the Lions next Sunday for the NFL Championship.
