The Chicago Cardinals completed their upset run through the NFL Playoffs by winning on the road against the favored Los Angeles Rams, 30-24, for their first NFL Championship. The Cardinals used a dominant running game to control the line of scrimmage, gaining 268 yards on 48 carries, and average of 5.6 per carry. Pat Harder led the ground attack with 113 yards, including a 29-yard sweep of left end in the third quarter that gave Chicago their first lead of the game, 20-17.
Bob Waterfield led the Rams with 240 yards passing and 2 TD. Los Angeles jumped out to an early 14-0 lead, but the defense couldn't hold the lead.
