The Eagles showed Pittsburgh why they are the #1 seed in the 1949 NFL Playoffs with a dominating 34-8 victory. Philadelphia controlled both sides of the ball. Their defense held the Steelers to just 110 yards for the day. Their offense churned out 246 yards on the ground on 52 punishing carries, a healthy 4.7 average per carry. Steve Van Buren showed why he is a perennial All-Pro with 122 yards rushing, and Boss Pritchard scored 3 TD and finished with 85 more on 16 carries.
The Eagles will host the Cardinals next weekend for a berth in the NFL Championship Game.
