The Chicago Cardinals earned the first postseason victory in franchise history over the mighty Cleveland browns in a 21-15 thriller. The Cardinals used 4 field goals from Vinnie Yablonski to build a 12-0 fourth quarter lead before Otto Graham led the Browns offense down the field twice in 8 minutes during the fourth quarter to take the lead, 15-12. Elmer Angsman broke a 55 yard run on the next possession, which led to a fifth Yablonski field goal and a 15-15 tie at the end of regulation.
After an exchange of punts in overtime, Charley Trippi swept the left side and took it 40 yards for the game winning touchdown. The Cardinals will most likely have to win three road games to win a championship, but they're off to an excellent start. This is the first time Cleveland hasn't gotten to the NFL title game in the brief history of their franchise.
