The Los Angeles Rams were an offensive juggernaut all season long, and the general consensus was that they would cruise to the semifinals against the Philadelphia Eagles, who struggled all season long. Instead, the Eagles got a solid defensive performance, holding the Rams to 241 yards and 3 points, and they cruised to a 35-3 victory on the road. Frank Ziegler ran for 92 yards and 2 TD, while the Eagles averaged 4.4 yards per carry as a team. Philadelphia QB Tommy Thompson threw for 189 yards and 2 TD, both going to Pete Pihos. Pihos caught 4 passes for 96 yards, and his 51-yard TD with less than a minute to play in the first half gave the Eagles a 21-3 lead and ended the competitive portion of the game.
Philadelphia will travel to Cleveland for the NFL Semifinals.
